Facilities

Raritan Valley Community College is committed to the health, well-being and safety of all college community members and is proud to be smoke free creating a healthier, cleaner, and more productive environment.

East Building & Planetarium

A 100-seat Planetarium offers public star shows and laser concerts. The 3M Observatory features three small buildings that includes a 16-foot dome and a 20-foot roll-off roof. The building also houses the Science Education Institute and a classroom with stadium seating.

Somerset and Hunterdon Halls

Separated by an outdoor courtyard, Somerset and Hunterdon Halls include classroom space, computer labs, and the main Technical Support Desk. Hunterdon Hall houses the Business & Public Safety department and the Health Science Education department.  Somerset Hall houses the Communication & Languages, English, Mathematics, and Humanities, Social Science & Education departments.

College Center

Houses many of RVCC’s student services including First-Year Experience, Disability Services, Financial Aid, Transfer and Career Services, the Finance office, and Advising and Counseling. The Bookstore, the College’s Art Gallery, a snack bar and cafeteria, and the Optical Clinic.

West Building

Offers classroom space, computer and graphic design labs, a conference room, video production/editing facilities, offices for the Computer Science department and a technology Help Desk.

Physical Education Building

Features a 10,000 square foot gymnasium, six-lane heated pool, and a Fitness Center with over 30 cardio, strength and conditioning machines.

Christine Todd Whitman Science Center

The newly expanded Center—whose addition was designed to achieve LEED Silver certification—includes laboratories and classroom space for biology, chemistry, engineering, environmental science, physics,  general science, pre-medical professional and pre-pharmacy. Houses the offices of the College’s Science & Engineering department.

Ray Bateman Center for Student Life and Leadership

Offers 24,000 square feet of flexible learning space including conference rooms, small study areas, student work stations, office space for the Student Life, Student Government Association and the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, a central meeting location for all student clubs and organizations, and the Tutoring Center. Built to the standards of LEED Gold certification, the Center features a two-story atrium and “living wall” of vegetation.

Theatre at RVCC (RVCCArts)

Is non-profit performing arts center that presents a wide range of professional cultural programming for all ages. Comprises two performing spaces: the proscenium-style Edward Nash Theatre is an auditorium that seats approximately 1,000 on two levels, and the Welpe Theatre is a flexible studio space.

Evelyn S. Field Library

Is open to RVCC students, faculty, staff and the public—offers group study rooms, carrel and table seating for studying, and computers. The Library features a large collection of books, eBooks, DVDs, videos, audio books, journals and newspapers and houses the Resource Center of the Institute for Holocaust and Genocide Studies, Paul Robeson Resource Room. Admissions and the Testing Center are located in the lower level.

Arts Building

Offers classroom, performance and studio space for visual arts, interior design, theatre, dance, and music programs. Offices for the Visual and Performing Arts department.  A Theatre Lab and Interior Design Center are located behind the Arts Building.

Children’s Campus

Is the on-campus childcare center for children ages 3 months to 5 years. The facility is licensed by the State of New Jersey. The center is open 12 months a year and offers childcare for children of students, staff and faculty, as well as the community when space is available.

Conference Center

Provides over 3,600 square feet of flexible event space with a seating capacity of up to 400 people. Available for the public to rent. The room is divisible into three self-contained.

Workforce Training Center

Houses career programs designed in partnership with local industry, professional development classes and the Small Business Development Center. Career programs include Automotive Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Cosmetology, Esthetics (skin care), and Environmental Control Technology (HVAC).
