| Incoming Transfer StudentsWelcome to RVCC!Advising & Counseling Services is here to assist you in making a smooth transition to Raritan Valley Community College. Please review the information below to ensure that you are following the required steps needed to get you on the right track for a successful college experience! As a first-time, full-time college student, you must follow the steps provided on the admissions page to ensure that you have complied with the college's admissions policies. Next, if you are wondering how your previous college course work will impact registration for your first semester at RVCC and need help selecting classes, please call Advising & Counseling Services at 908-526-1200 ext. 8336 or 8330 for an appointment with an Academic Advisor who can answer your questions and assist you with registration. It is absolutely necessary that you bring an unofficial copy of your college transcript with you to your appointment. Please note that appointments will not be available during the 3-4 weeks prior to the start of the semester. At that time, all students are seen on a first come, first serve basis only. If you are comfortable scheduling your classes without the assistance of an Academic Advisor you may register by web, mail, fax, or in person at the Student Enrollment Center. Once again, please provide an unofficial transcript or print out of your grades to confirm placement testing exemptions and proof of prerequisites; this will facilitate your registration. Visit the registration page for more registration information including office hours. ************************************* As stated on the admissions page, you will need to submit your official college transcripts in order for them to be officially evaluated. The evaluation will be completed by the Records Specialist during your first semester at RVCC, and you will be notified via e-mail of what credits you have been awarded. If you have any questions about your awarded credits and how they fit into your degree program, you can perform a degree evaluation online through ROARS in the Lion's Den. If you need further assistance, you can meet with an Academic Advisor during drop-in hours. |
