Options for Faculty Development

Faculty Contract Article IX – Workload 0.2

 

 

  1. Continue with Annual Assessment Activity Project from last year. (Pipitone)

 

  1. Attend training for conversion to WebCT6. (Machnik)

 

  1. Participate in setting cut scores for English or Math in January. (Reeves)

 

  1. Organize and facilitate 3-4 sessions on classroom management /the nature of our students (Mierendorf)

 

  1. Participate in a teacher exchange with another faculty member.  This would involve a minimum of 4 visits and discussion. (Mierendorf)

 

  1. Teaching circles. Design and run two faculty development sessions focused on Parker Palmer’s work or other work on Authenticity or Creativity.*. (Mierendorf)

 

  1. One World – Plan 2008 theme working with students, faculty and staff. Select book, speaker, and preliminary activities to begin January 2008. (Sullivan)

 

Process for Awarding

 

  1. Obtain the form from the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Public Folder.

 

  1. Complete activities or training.

 

  1. Get sign-off from Project Director listed with activity.

 

  1. Get sign-off from chair.

 

  1. Submit by May 15 to Max Stevens.

 

 

*  Examples include:  Encouraging Authenticity and Spirituality in Higher Education by Chickering, Dalton and Stamm; Out of Our Minds:  Learning to Be Creative by Ken Robinson; and Sparks of Genius: The Thirteen Thinking Tools of the World’s Most Creative People by Robert Root-Bernstein.
