TACTYC -- Teachers of
Accounting at Two Year Colleges
Teachers of Accounting at Two-Year Colleges (TACTYC) will host its 34th
annual conference in Boston, MA in 2009. The TACTYC conference offers
accounting educators such as yourself an opportunity to recharge and
refresh your skills as well as network with colleagues from all over the
country. The concurrent sessions will provide a rich variety of
presentations, encompassing a broad range of topics of interest to
accounting educators. For the
2009 conference, we are especially interested in soliciting
presentations on the following general themes:
1. FARS Research
2. Integrating forensic accounting or fraud into accounting courses
3. Interactive accounting games sessions
4. Tips and techniques for Adobe, E-College, Camtasia, Blackboard, WebCT,
Podcasts, etc
5. Sharing what works in financial, managerial, hybrid courses and
course management
6. Enrolled agent and tax internship programs
7. State of the Profession, such as trends in accounting profession and
education, updates on the computerized CPA Exam, Sarbannes Oxley, or
taxation
8. Ethics
9. IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
Proposals should be between a paragraph and a page in length, and should
include a title as well as your name and affiliation. Proposals can be
made for a group or for an individual presentation. Please submit your

located on the TACTYC website,

Deadlines: Papers/Abstracts Submissions and Invited Sessions Proposals:

All Submitted papers/abstracts will go through three reviewing
processes: (1) double-blind (at least three reviewers), (2) non-blind,
and (3) participative peer reviews. These three kinds of review will
support the selection process of those papers/abstracts that will be
accepted for their presentation at the conference, as well as those to
be selected for their publication in JSCI Journal.
Authors of accepted papers who registered in the conference can have
access to the evaluations and possible feedback provided by the
reviewers who recommended the acceptance of their papers/abstracts, so
they can accordingly improve the final version of their papers.
Non-registered authors will not have access to the reviews of their
respective submissions.
Awards will be granted to the best paper of those presented at each
session. From these session's best papers, the best 10%-20% of the
papers presented at the conference will be invited to adapt their papers
for their publication in the Journal of Systemics, Cybernetics and
Informatics.

Union County College 75th Anniversary Academic Conference
The UCC
Academic Conference Subcommittee solicits proposals for
complete panels and individual papers. Panel proposals should include
the following: 1) a cover sheet with the panel's title, the titles of
all papers to be presented on the panel, and the name, address, rank
and affiliation, and email addresses of the chair/commentator and
panelists (if they have been selected) and 2) a one-page abstract of
the panel as a whole.
The theme of the conference is "The Changing Dynamics of the Two-Year
College." The conference will provide a collegial forum for the
discussion of topics related to the changing world of two-year college
education. Its program will reflect scholarship on a variety of
subjects: pedagogy, historical perspectives and analysis, the history of
higher education in New Jersey, especially since the New Deal, New
Jersey authors and artists, reflections upon and responses to the New
Deal in New Jersey, classroom research, faculty development, student
assessment, the economics of the two-year college education, technology
in the classroom, socio-cultural, scientific, and mathematical
developments in education, health and medical education at the two-year
college, and other subjects related to the conference theme.
Individual paper proposals for twenty-minute papers should include the
following: 1) a cover sheet with the paper's title and the name,
address, rank and affiliation, and email address of the panelist and
2) a one-page abstract of the paper. All questions and materials

NJ Council of Community Colleges 2009 Best Practices Conference
The New Jersey Council of County Colleges is accepting presentation
proposals for its 2009 Best Practices Conference. Hudson County
Community College in Jersey City will host the 2009 Best Practices
Conference on Thursday and Friday, April 23 and 24, 2009. Click

The Presentation Proposal Form is due by Friday, November 28, 2008. The
Best Practices Steering Committee will review all submissions shortly
after the deadline to determine the presentations during the Conference.
