Welcome to MIS!

We are here to provide technical support to all students, staff and faculty. Our goal is to keep RVCC computer & technology systems current and running smoothly. If you have any questions or problems related to campus computer technology, please call xHELP (4357), email us at helpdesk@raritanval.edu, or come to the Helpdesk window at S-112 or in the new West Building W-206.

News & Announcements

	Desktop Computer Sale There are approximately 10 used desktop computers available for sale. All computers have been tested and are in good working condition. The sale price is $75.00 each. Each desktop includes MS Windows XP Operating System, a monitor, keyboard and a mouse. The computers are Gateway E3600, with a Pentium 4, 1.5 GHZ processor and 512Mb of memory. Storage is 20 GB. All sales are final; PCs are sold as is. RVCC accepts no responsibility for ongoing maintenance and support. A display table is set up in the bookstore so you can see an example of what is for sale. To obtain a PC, go to the bookstore to make payment. You will be then be given a receipt and a card with a barcode which you should take to the MIS help desk located in Somerset Hall S112 where you will receive your computer. All PC Equipment must be removed from the college campus on the date of purchase.

	Dell computer is offering discounted pricing to Raritan Valley Community College on individual or personal purchases. 	Hewlett-Packard is now offering Raritan Valley Community College the HP employee discount on individual or personal purchases. The Higher Education discount is offered to all staff and faculty members employed at RVCC. Please click on the following link to register online with HP and qualify for the discount. 	MIS Service Requests....The MIS Help Desk provides Faculty and Staff with an easy way to request services or report problems. In the Lion's Den the tab is labeled MIS Service Request. This service allows you to see any requests that you have submitted previously or to create a new request. To help you use this service, we have created a video that will give you an overview of its features. To access this video click on the Help and Training tab above, and select MIS Service Request Demo.
	RVCC Wireless Network... The RVCC wireless network is available in all buildings on campus and in several outside areas such as the Quadrangle bordered by the Planetarium, Somerset Hall and Hunterdon Hall. To gain access, you will need to stop by one of the MIS Help Desk locations (S112 or W206) and fill out a Wireless Access User Agreement. You only need to do this one time. Please contact the MIS Help Desk if you have any questions or problems using our wireless network. If you would like to use the RVCC wireless network, and have not already registered for access, fill out a Wireless Access User Agreement.
