How to use Netscape Composer
(to create and edit Web pages)
To Make a New Web Page
1. Open Netscape Composer:

-
Programs
-
Netscape Communicator
-
Netscape Composer
2. Use the Tools in the Netscape Composer toolbars to create
and format your document.
(Use the Help menu to get help
in using specific tools.)

Type in text
-
Edit text to add bold, italic, underline.

Create bulleted or numbered lists.
-
Insert images and tables.
-
Make links to other Web sites.
3. Click on the Preview button (ship's wheel) to see what
your page actually looks like in Netscape Navigator browser.

Save file - type in a file name. (Composer will add the .htm
or .html)

Type a title for your page. (NOTE: This is very important
if you are making a lesson page for a WebCT course. This title will
become the lesson title that the students will see in your course outline/path.)

Netscape will open the Navigator browser to show your completed
page.
4. Go back to Netscape Composer by clicking on the Composer
button at the bottom of the screen
(button with blue triangle and screwdriver).
5. Edit and save, then preview. Repeat as needed!
To Open a Previously Saved Web Page
1. Open Netscape Composer:

-
Netscape Composer
2. File Menu - Open page
3. Click on choose file button. Choose file.
4. Click on open button.
5. Edit and save, then preview. Repeat as needed!
