Microsoft FrontPage: Editing Pages On-line
To Make a New Web Page On-line
1. Make and open a Network Place in Microsoft FrontPage:
NOTE:
to find the name of your Network Place, go to your faculty Website
and copy the
URL from the address box - delete the filename from the end of the URL.
- File menu - New - Page (or New Page icon)
2. Use the Tools in the Microsoft FrontPage toolbars to create
and format your document.
(Use the Help menu to get help
in using specific tools.)

Type in text

Edit text to add bold, italic, underline.

Create bulleted or numbered lists.

Insert images and tables.

Make links to other Web sites.

HINT: use shift + enter to single space.
3. Use the tabs at the bottom of the page to see four views of your
page.

Design - editing view of your page; this is where you will type and format
your information.

Split - shows the HTML code generated by FrontPage as your edit in the top
frame; shows the editing view of your page in the bottom frame; you can edit in
either frame

Code - shows the HTML code generated by FrontPage as your edit; you can
edit this code.

Preview - shows the Web view of the page; use this view to check links.
4. Click on the Save button to save your page.

Save file - type in a file name.

Click the Change title button.
Type a title for your page. (NOTE: This is very important
if you are making a lesson page for a WebCT course. This title will
become the lesson title that the students will see in your course Table
of Contents.)

Go to your page from the RVCC Homepage to see changes on the Web
To Open a Previously Saved Web Page
1. Open your Web Folder in Microsoft FrontPage:

Login to the college network

Open
Microsoft FrontPage
- File menu - Open Site
- Choose the name of your Network Place (from our example above - Kane on www.raritanval.edu); click Open
2. Double-click on filename to open file
3. Edit and save. Repeat as needed!
4. Go to your page from the RVCC Homepage to see changes on the Web
HINT: Use the view menu to choose Folder List so that your folders and
files show in the left frame and your pages show in the right frame.
