  • Please review changes to the Enhanced Membership System.
    • There is no longer a maximum number of points you can earn via donations.
    • While we strongly appreciate the donations made by our members, we feel that to keep the spirit of five star alive, we need to encourage a greater level of participation in our events. As a result, the only way you will be able to keep ALL of your points from donating is by ensuring you earn an EQUAL number of points by participating.

      Here's how it works:

SITUATION: You earn a large number points for donating goods but very few points for participating.
RESULT: You will keep 1/2 of the donation points you earn and ALL of the participation points you earn.
EXAMPLE: if you earn 200 points from donating and 24 points from volunteering you will earn 124 points during the semester (100 for donating --1/2 of your total -- plus the 24 you earned from volunteering.

SITUATION: You earn a large number of points for donating goods and almost as many points from participating.
RESULT: You will keep as many donation points earned as participation points.
EXAMPLE: If you earn 200 points for donating and 170 points for volunteering, you will get to keep 170 of the 200 points you earned for donating since you earned 170 points for volunteering. The total points earned would be 340.

SITUATION: You earn more points from volunteering than you earn from donating.
RESULT: You will keep ALL of the points earned.
EXAMPLE: You earn 150 points from volunteering and 100 points from donating. As a result, you keep all 250 points since you earned more points from volunteering your time.
    • This is a one semester experiment. Please bear with us as we try and keep the spirit of the program intact. "If you have a personal situation preventing you from participating in events, please contact our lead advisor, Steve Schwarz, at sschwarz@raritanval.edu
