Dear RVCC students:
Knowing fully the challenges that accompany the kind of cataclysmic weather—limited power and transportation options, destroyed property—and knowing these challenges may be ongoing during the remainder of the semester, RVCC has determined that it will alter the academic schedule for this semester in the interest of maximizing instructional time.
RVCC has made the following changes in its academic calendar so faculty can make alterations to their classes as necessary:
- Classes which normally meet on Wednesdays will meet for class on Wednesday, Nov. 21.
- The last day of classes will be extended to Tues., Dec. 18.
- Final exams will held from Wed., Dec. 19 through Sat., Dec. 22. Open testing centers will be available for proctored exams.
Your faculty will be the primary source of information about the updated semester work and options for final exams for each of your classes. Faculty should be sharing updated schedules/semester information with you in the next few days.
If you are a transfer student or already have verifiable conflicts in any of the extended days, please talk to your professor to make alternate arrangements for submitting and completing work as necessary. Acknowledging people will invariably have conflicts, all students, faculty and staff are asked to be as flexible as possible to make reasonable and feasible accommodations.
As classes and a sense of normalcy resume, we wish you all the best.
