RVCC TO OFFER PSAT/SAT REVIEW COURSE
Raritan Valley Community College?s (RVCC) Corporate and Continuing Education (CCE) division is offering an eight-session PSAT/SAT review course this fall. Two sessions are being offered: Sundays, September 9 to October 28, from 2-5 p.m., and Thursdays, September 20 to November 1, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. The second session will have one additional Tuesday class on October 30, from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Students work on simulated PSAT/SAT questions and discuss the answers. Homework is required. Topics include the breakdown of the three-hour test, how to prepare for the test, and how the ?guessing factor? can be used to significantly increase one's score. ?Grid response? questions are explained in the math section.
Proper test preparation greatly helps to minimize the dangerous tensions that can lower many students? scores. Half of the sessions are spent on verbal skills, the other half on math. The course is taught by the Educational Services Center of New Jersey.
The cost per student is $405 per session. To register or for more information, call 908-218-8871 or visit www.raritanval.edu/cce .
