Raritan Valley Community College?s (RVCC) Visual and Performing Arts Department will present Savage in Limbo by award-winning playwright John Patrick Shanley. The student production will be staged Wednesday-Saturday, April 9-12, at 8 p.m., in the Welpe Theatre at the College?s North Branch Campus.

Savage in Limbo is one of Shanley?s earliest plays. The writer is best known for his Tony and Pulitzer prize-winning play, Doubt (2004), and his screenplay for Moonstruck (1986).

Savage in Limbo revolves around five 32-year-olds at a Bronx bar who complain that their lives are going nowhere and they?re anxious for something to change.

The play?s original music is being performed by Danial Cudworth of Branchburg, a recent RVCC graduate.

Savage in Limbo is being directed by Dennis Russo of Little Falls, coordinator of the RVCC Theatre program, with scenic design by Mark Bloom of Bloomfield.

The play contains adult themes and language and is not recommended for youngsters under the age of 16.
