RVCC SETS SUMMER YOUTH WRITING CLASSES
The Corporate & Continuing Education (CCE) division at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) in North Branch will offer a variety of writing classes this summer for children ages 8-13. The following courses will be offered:
Workshop for Young Writers: Students who have completed grades 1-8 will be given the opportunity to engage in creative and effective writing experiences. Students will use the works of well-known authors as a model to develop their own writing ?voice.? The workshop is affiliated with the Writing Agenda, a partnership between Centenary College and Raritan Valley Community College. The two-week class will be held Monday through Friday, July 21-August 1, from 9 a.m.-noon. The fee is $328.
Young Author?s Camp: Students ages 9-12 will study various children?s book authors and illustrators as they learn how to write and publish a picture book. The class will be held Monday through Friday, June 23-27, from 9 a.m.-noon. The fee is $167.
Writing Academy: Students ages 9-12 are introduced to expository, narrative and persuasive writing styles. The class will be held Monday through Friday, July 7-11, from 9 a.m.-noon. The fee is $167.
Mystery Writing: Students ages 8-10 are taught the fundamentals of the mystery writing genre. The two-week class will be held Monday through Friday, July 7-18, from 1-4 p.m. The fee is $328.
