RVCC TO OFFER COURSE IN FORENSIC EVALUATION
The Allied Health department of Raritan Valley Community College?s (RVCC) Corporate & Continuing Education (CCE) division is offering a course in Forensic Evaluation for Child Abuse/Forensic Identification in Mass Disasters. The six-hour course will be offered Friday, October 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the College?s North Branch Campus.
Recent mass disasters such as the World Trade Center, American Airlines Flight 587 and Hurricane Katrina have required the services of health professionals, law enforcement and social/psychological personnel. Previous protocols for mass disasters are continually being reviewed and revised to better prepare authorities for possible future disaster events.
The seminar will include such topics as child abuse recognition, child abuse reporting, mass disaster protocol and identifications in multiple mass disasters.
The child abuse section of the program has been approved by the NY State Educational Department to fulfill the continuing education requirement for health professionals and teachers for licensure.
Upon completion of the course, a New Jersey State Nurses Association (NJSNA) Certificate with six NJSNA contact hours will be issued.
Corporate and Continuing Education at Raritan Valley Community College is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by New Jersey State Nurses Association (NJSNA), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center?s Commission on Accreditation.
