The Planetarium at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) in North Branch will present a performance of the children?s singer/songwriter mr. RAY (?Music for the Kid in All of Us?), Sunday, January 11, at 2 and 4 p.m.

The performance is suited for families with youngsters ages three to eight. Audience members will clap and sing along while they learn about the colors of the rainbow, pretend to ?swish? a basketball, or imagine they?ve got a friend named ?Kalien, the Alien.?

Ray?s background in pop and rock music includes performing with several well-known artists, including as a backup singer and musician for Meat Loaf. In 1994 Ray was asked to perform for children at a preschool where his wife worked. After that performance, he soon became known as the singer ?mr. RAY??clad in his trademark black glasses and holding an eye-catching, colorfully stickered guitar.

mr. RAY?s albums and DVDs include Start Dreaming! , Songs From the Kids? Lounge , Family Ride and Songs From The Stickered Guitar . He has been profiled in such publications as Parenting Magazine, Family Fun, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal .

Tickets to mr. RAY cost $8 per person (age one and older). Reservations are recommended. For additional information and reservations, call 908-231-8805.
