PR # 123 January 5, 2009

The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) in North Branch, joined by the RVCC Foundation, will mark the Theatre?s 25th anniversary season at a gala celebration Saturday, February 28. The event will feature a performance by three-time Grammy Award-winner Tom Chapin.

The evening will include a 6 p.m. cocktail reception, a dessert reception at 7 p.m. and the concert at 8 p.m.

One of the most enduring legacies of the Foundation?s fundraising efforts is the Theatre at RVCC. The $1 million raised by the Foundation 25 years ago supported construction of the 1,000-seat Theatre that continues to showcase an annual schedule of performances with broad public appeal.

The February 28 celebration offers guests two levels to support the Theatre:

* Marquee sponsors ($50 for Friends of the Theatre member; $75 for non-member): Ticket holders will enjoy a cocktail reception on stage, a dessert reception and silent auction in the Welpe Theatre, as well as premium seating at the Chapin performance in the Nash Theatre.

* Center Stage sponsors (Free for Friends of the Theatre member; $25 to become a member): Ticket holders will enjoy the dessert reception and silent auction, along with a ticket to the Chapin performance.

In addition, underwriting opportunities are available at $2,000 for the Cocktail Reception; $750 for the Dessert Reception; $500 for the Program; and $250 for Photography.

All guests can bid on select silent auction items, including trips, sports memorabilia, restaurant gift certificates and more. For additional information about the Theatre Anniversary Celebration and supporting RVCC, contact the Foundation office at 908-526-1200, ext. 8411.
