Christine Harttraft, the new Interim Hunterdon County Superintendent of Schools, has joined the Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) Board of Trustees.

Harttraft?s extensive background working in the community and education in Hunterdon County includes serving as an officer in the Juvenile Officers? Association, as a member of the Youth Services Commission and on advisory councils for the Departments of Human Services, Health and Education. Harttraft also has held various administrative positions in the fields of education and criminal justice. She began her professional career as a social worker for youth and their families and has served as an adjunct instructor at Temple University.

Harttraft is currently a doctoral student at Widener University. She also received an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Widener as well as an M.A. in Student Personnel Services and a B.A. in Criminal Justice, both from The College of New Jersey. She lives in Richboro, Pennsylvania.

David Evers of Franklin Township (Somerset County) has been chosen as the new alumni representative to the RVCC Board of Trustees. Evers received an Associate of Science in Business Administration from RVCC in May 2008. While at RVCC he served as president of both the Student Government Association and the College?s Social Justice Club. He also served as co-chair of Relay For Life and participated in leadership development courses, RVCC's Tri-College Diversity Conference and several other volunteer activities.

RVCC, located on Route 28 and Lamington Road in North Branch, NJ, and serving Somerset and Hunterdon County residents for close to 40 years, offers more than 90 associate degrees and certificates. In addition, customized training programs and non-credit courses are available for those seeking personal and professional development.
