RVCC TO OFFER YOUTH COMPUTER CLASSES
Raritan Valley Community College?s (RVCC) Corporate & Continuing Education (CCE) division will be offering a variety of computer classes this fall for children and teens ages 8-14. The following programs will be presented:
Video Game Creation: Students ages 9-14 are introduced to the fundamental concepts of object-oriented software design and video game creation through fun, hands-on tutorials. Participants create one or more games that they can share with friends and family. The class will be held Saturdays, October 4-25, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The fee is $195.
Digital Cartoon Animation: Students ages 9-14 utilize a variety of graphic design and animation software packages to produce original artwork and set it in motion to play a plot line. All final productions are uploaded to a site for easy access by students and their friends and family. The class will be held Saturdays, October 4-25, from 12-2 p.m. The fee is $195.
Amazing Architects: Students ages 9-14 craft their dream home or another building from concept through 3-D rendered design, complete with interior decorating. The project is uploaded to a site for easy access by students and their friends and family. The class will be held Saturdays, November 15 to December 13, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The fee is $195.
Web Page Design: Students ages 8-10 explore kid-friendly sites on the World Wide Web and receive an introduction to HTML to design a web page. The class will be held Saturdays, November 1-22, from 10:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. The fee is $74.
Microsoft PowerPoint-Level 1: Students ages 11-14 are introduced to one of today?s most popular presentation software programs. The class will be held Saturdays, November 1-22, from 9-10:30 a.m. The fee is $74.
Keyboarding: Students ages 8-14 perfect their touch-keyboarding skills and learn the fundamentals of word processing. The class will be held Saturdays, October 4-25, from 9-10:30 a.m. (ages 8-10) and repeated from 10:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. (ages 11-14). The fee per session is $74.
