Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) will host the 10th Annual Malcolm Bernard Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) College Fair, Wednesday, November 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Gymnasium at the College?s North Branch Campus. The fair is free of charge and open to the public. It is being hosted at RVCC by the Student Club Unity, Office of Student Life & Civic Engagement, and the College?s Robeson Institute for Ethics, Leadership & Social Justice.

The fair is expected to draw 1,000 students and 50 academic recruiters from historically black colleges and universities from across the country. High school students and groups are welcome to attend the event between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. High school students must attend with their high school counselors or their parents/guardians. Following the regular program, a special transfer session for community college students will be held from 1-2 p.m.

The fair will include workshops on such topics as the application process and financial aid; a motivational speech by Nashad Warfield, CEO and founder of NJ Student Success; and an HBCU alumni panel of speakers, including representatives from the New Brunswick Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and the Urban League of Morris County.

Students who wish to be considered for on-site admission to an HBCU school must bring 12 copies of the Student Information Form and official transcripts and scores from standardized tests, such as SATs.
