RVCC TO HOST BIO-TALENT FORUM AS PART OF NJ LIFE SCIENCES WEEK
Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) will host a forum on ?Bio-Talent: Strategies for Regional Economic Growth,? Tuesday, November 18, from 8:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event, which is free of charge and open to the public, will be held in the Conference Center at the College?s North Branch Campus.
The forum, which is being sponsored by RVCC and WIRED Bio-1, is being held as part of the celebration of NJ Life Sciences Week.
Amid growing evidence that New Jersey may be losing ground to other regional communities for the life sciences, the need to align resources for local bio-talent is more important than ever. The RVCC forum, which will feature leaders from business, education and government, will focus on such topics as the State of NJ?s Life Science Business Sector; Leveraging NJ Higher Education for BioTalent; Partnering for Talent Expansion; and Retooling Workers for Real Jobs in High Demand Industry. The program will also include a panel discussion on Strategies for Regional Economic Growth.
The forum will feature remarks from David J. Socolow, Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development; Mary Ellen Clark, Executive Director, WIRED Bio-1; Jane Oates, Executive Director, NJ Commission on Higher Education; Debbie Hart, President, BioNJ; and William R. Healey, Executive Vice President, Healthcare Institute of NJ; as well as other leaders in the industry and in education.
