RVCC TO HOLD MUSIC STUDENTS RECITAL
The music division of Raritan Valley Community College?s (RVCC) Visual and Performing Arts Department will present its annual Fall Music Students Recital, Tuesday, November 25, 12:10-1:20 p.m. The concert will be held the Arts Building Music Rehearsal Studio (A-33) at the College?s North Branch Campus. The event is free of charge and open to the public.
The program, coordinated by Assistant Professor Tony Strong, will contain a wonderful variety of musical styles, from classical and traditional masterworks to jazz standards and arrangements, presented by RVCC music majors in various solo and ensemble genres.
Featured students will include guitarist Tyler Evans (Asbury); bassist Dan Filipak (Hillsborough); pianists Kamaal Caldwell (North Plainfield), Estefan Higazi (Somerset), Jesse Mazzariello (Stewartsville), Michael Rosinski (Mildford) and Jeffrey Stier (Bound Brook); cellist Peter Dodenhoff (Basking Ridge); percussionist John Fiorilla (Watchung); mandolinist Christopher Idell (Martinsville); flutist Erica Kane (Warren); trumpeter Timothy Svendsen (Hackettstown); and vocalists Rachel Coburn (Frenchtown), Katlyn O?Brien (Bridgewater) and Joseph Pierone (Belvidere).
The Department is dedicated to preparing music majors for transfer to a four-year college or university. RVCC offers Associate of Fine Arts in Music and Associate of Arts (Music Option) degrees, as well as solo and ensemble performance experience. The music faculty includes John Sichel, composer, chorus director; Tony Strong, piano; Larry Barbee, guitar; Michael Eckhart, guitar, technology; Stephen Hudson, piano; John Loehrke, bass, jazz ensemble director; Margaret Nelson, piano; and Sharon Reynolds, voice.
