 The English Department at Raritan Valley Community College offers courses ranging from English I to Creative Writing, American Literature to World Literature, developmental courses to honors courses, and interdisciplinary electives. Interdisciplinary courses include Psychology and Literature, and Global Patterns of Racism (in traditional and online versions). Students also can earn Service Learning certificates for community projects in a wide variety of English courses, including Autobiography, African-American Literature, Women in Literature, and freshman composition. The English department sponsors the RVCC Writing Center, which provides students with tutoring and writing assistance. All English courses at the college foster competency in reading, writing and critical thinking essential to students' academic courses, careers, and personal growth..
