Important Information for RVCC Online Students for Fall 2009
Specific details for online courses are provided on each course's Preview Page.
To access this page:
- Go to www.raritanval.edu
- In the dropdown box, select Distance Learning
- Select your term
- Click on the title of your course.
Your course's Preview Page may indicate a time for an orientation session. If your instructor hasn't designated a specific orientation session, then you should attend ONE of these general orientation sessions:

RVCC's online courses utilize Blackboard CE course management software. Blackboard CE ensures a closed and secure environment for your course. Accessibility is limited to registered students, the instructor, and the administrators.
To log in to your course at the appropriate starting date above,
· - Go into the Lion's Den, and then click on "My Courses"
· - Click on the title of your course
You will need a username and password:
- Username: your college-assigned ID number (9 characters beginning with an uppercase G and two zero's).
Example, G00345678. - Password:
- For First-time students, passwords are randomly-generated and are sent to you only via snail-mail.
- example: Rv314159
- For returning students, your password should remain what you used previously.

- Forced Password Change:
Students are required to change their password every 120 days.
Please follow these password change instructions.
You will need to follow the criteria to change your password successfully.
