The Evelyn S. Field Library is located in theTheater/Library complex of Raritan Valley Community College and is open to students and staff of RVCC and to the public. However, only students, staff, and residents of Somerset and Hunterdon Counties have borrowing privileges. The Library hours include evenings and weekends.
Located on the main level are the Reference Desk and Reference Collection where a librarian is available to assist with research, the Circulation Desk where materials are checked out, and the Serials Area which houses a collection of current and past issues of newspapers, magazines, and journals. Computers are available for research and Internet access. Also located on this level is the Library Instruction Classroom, which is available for word processing when not in use for instruction.
The upper level of the Library is a quiet study area and houses the Circulating Book Collection (books which may be checked out), private study rooms, and the Holocaust and Genocide Research Center, a repository of Holocaust and genocide literature and audio-visual materials.
The Library maintains a slide collection of art history, humanities, and science slides in the Slide Library and an Archives collection to preserve documents of historical value to the College.
In addition, through Interlibrary Loan service, materials not available at RVCC can be obtained from other libraries.
