Full-Time Students

NJ law requires all full-time students to have basic hospitalization insurance coverage for Fall 2012 & Spring 2013. Students registered for 12 or more credits in the Fall or Spring semester will be assessed an additional $35 health insurance fee in that semester unless a completed and signed insurance waiver form is provided to the Finance Department for each semester in which they attend on a full time basis. Proof of insurance must be submitted along with the insurance waiver form.

Insurance waiver cards must be submitted to the Finance Department no later than the 10th day of the semester to have this fee removed from their student bill.

NEW graphic Legislation (S2291) affecting Student Health Insurance has been approved by the NJ General Assembly and is now waiting on concurrence by the NJ Senate.  Once this bill becomes law, RVCC will no longer require full-time students to maintain health insurance coverage.  This is expected to occur prior to the start of the Fall 2013 Semester.

Part-Time Students

The New Jersey Law mandating that all full-time (12 credits or more) students have hospitalization insurance does not apply to part-time students.  However, any part-time student taking 6 to 11 credits now has the option to purchase the same plan that is required for full-time students (24-Hour Accident and Sickness Coverage).  If you currently have adequate hospitalization insurance coverage you may not need this coverage.

If you are eligible to enroll and wish to purchase this insurance coverage, you must apply for coverage directly with T. L. Groseclose Associates, Inc., the Administrator, prior to or during the first 30 days of each semester, only. Applications received later will be declined. Coverage will be in effect from the first day of the semester for which you are applying, or the date the premium is received by T.L. Groseclose Associates, Inc., whichever is later.  The charge for the period of coverage for the Fall Semester (8/26/2012 - 1/22/2013) or the Spring Semester (1/22/2013 - 8/26/2013) is $45.00.   The charge for the period of coverage for the Summer Semester (effective date 5/21/2012 or 6/4/2012 or 7/9/2012 to termination date of 8/26/2012) is $31.50.
NEW graphicThis specific type of insurance will no longer be available beginning in the Fall 2013.  Check back here in July 2013 to see if another type of insurance will be available.
