Tuition

In-County (Hunterdon/Somerset) Tuition

$117 per credit beginning in Fall 2012 or $125 per credit beginning in Fall 2013 (includes hybrid courses).  Hybrid courses are charged as regular classes with lab fees.

Out-of-County Tuition $127 per credit beginning in Fall 2012 or $145 per credit beginning in Fall 2013 (includes hybrid courses).  Hybrid courses are charged as regular classes with lab fees. 
Out-of-County tuition also applies to out-of-state residents.

(Note: An Out-of-County resident who provides written verification from his/her employer of current employment in either Somerset or Hunterdon County will receive a $10 per credit hour reduction from the standard Out-of-County resident rate beginning in Fall 2012 or a $20 per credit hour reduction from the standard Out-of-County resident rate beginning in Fall 2013.

RVCC On-Line Courses and NJ Virtual Community College Course Tuition $153 per credit beginning in Fall 2012 or $162 per credit beginning in Fall 2013.  No fees charged.
Early College Program Tuition (High school students) $150 for first course per semester beginning in Fall 2012 or $175 for first course per semester beginning in Fall 2013; additional courses taken during the same semester are at regular rates, including fees.
Concurrent Enrollment Program Tuition (High school students) $150 for each course taken at the student's high school beginning in Fall 2012 or $175 for each course taken at the student's high school beginning in Fall 2013 without limit to the number of courses taken in a semester.  Participation in the Concurrent Enrollment Program will not preclude high school students from enrolling in the Early College Program.
 

Tuition Waivers  

To claim a waiver, a student must register in person and present all required waiver eligibility documentation at the time of registration. Waivers are not applied retroactively to existing registrations.
Students with tuition waivers are responsible for all fees and for the costs of all textbooks and other instructional materials associated with the courses for which they enroll.

Hunterdon / Somerset Gold Card Senior Citizens, Minimum Age 65

This waiver has been discontinued effective 8/29/12 for In-County and Out-of-County Gold Card seniors.  There is no registration waiting period.   
The In-County student will be charged at the regular rate of $117 per credit beginning in Fall 2012 plus fees or $125 per credit beginning in Fall 2013 plus fees. 
The Out-of-County student will be charged at the regular rate of $127 per credit beginning in Fall 2012 plus fees or $145 per credit beginning in Fall 2013 plus fees.  

Unemployment Tuition Waiver

For the Fall 2013 semester:  College policy allows Somerset/Hunterdon county resident students who have received tuition waivers to register beginning on August 27, 2013, five (5) business days prior to the start of classes.  All students not residing in Somerset/Hunterdon county who have received tuition waivers may register beginning on September 3, 2013one (1) day prior to the start of classes.  Out-of-County residents must first apply to their home county college.  Prior to registering, students must complete the FAFSA financial aid application and receive an approved waiver (Unemployment Certification) from the One-Stop office.  Both must be presented at the time of initial registration.  Students are responsible for paying all fees charged (Fees Apply).  The Late Registration fee is waived for Unemployment Waiver registrations.

If you register earlier than five (5) business days (for in-county residents) or one (1) day (for out-of-county residents) immediately prior to the start of classes, or have not presented both the completed FAFSA and the approved waiver from the One-Stop office at the time of initial registration: 
  ~  an in-county resident will be charged at the regular rate of $117 per credit beginning in Fall 2012 plus fees or $125 per credit beginning in Fall 2013 plus fees; 
  ~  an out-of-county resident will be charged at the rate of $127 per credit beginning in Fall 2012 plus fees or $145 per credit beginning in Fall 2013 plus fees. 
Chargebacks cannot be used for this waiver program.

National Guard & National Guard Reserves Tuition Waiver Tuition waiver for up to 16 credits per semester for members of the New Jersey National Guard or the New Jersey National Guard Reserves only. Students are responsible for paying all fees charged (Fees Apply).
Volunteer Firefighters & Volunteer Emergency Medical Personnel Tuition Waiver 
                               
Tuition waiver of up to $600 per year and $2,400 lifetime per family (volunteer, spouse and children) of volunteers in active service as a volunteer firefighter or volunteer emergency medical service worker. Students are responsible for paying all fees charged (Fees Apply).

September 11th Victims' Families Tuition Waiver Tuition waiver for victims of the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001 or for a member of the victim's immediate family. Students are responsible for paying all fees charged (Fees Apply).

Fees 
Application Fee $25
General Registration Fee $22 per credit hour - charged to all students except for on-line, Early College or Concurrent Enrollment Program courses.
Laboratory/Studio/Activity Fee                 Most fees can range from $60-$90 per course - charged to all students enrolled in classes identified as having this fee in the semester's Class Schedule; will be charged for hybrid courses.  The fee specific to individual courses are indicated in the semester's Schedule of Classes.
Technology Fee $75 per semester for a full-time student; $50 per semester for a part-time student - charged to all students except for those enrolling exclusively in on-line courses, Concurrent Enrollment Program courses or on the first Early College Program course per semester.
Enrollment Service Fee $32 per semester beginning in Fall 2012 - charged to all students except for those enrolling exclusively in on-line courses, Concurrent Enrollment Program courses or on the first Early College Program course per semester.
Developmental Course Fee $15 charged to students in one or more developmental courses per semester.
Official Transcript Fee $5
Returned Item Fee $25 for each returned Check, Credit Card charge and/or ACH transaction.

 •  5/28/13 for Summer I Second Half 3 Wks & Summer III  9 Wks sessions; 
 •  6/17/13 for Summer 2013 Career Program; 
 •  6/24/13 for Summer II Second 6 Wks & Summer II First Half 3 Wks sessions; 
 •  7/08/13 for Summer 2013 Four Weeks session; and 
 •  7/15/13 for Summer II Second Half 3 Wks session.
   

$50 - beginning in Fall 2013, assessed with registrations on or after
 •  6/24/13 for Fall 2013 Career Program 1 term (12 wk session)
 •  8/21/13 for Fall 2013 Full Term & Fall First 7 Wks session; 
 •  9/04/13 for Fall 2013 12 week session (late start); 
 •  9/16/13 for Fall 2013 Career Program 2 term (12 wk session); and 
 •  10/9/13 for Fall 2013 Second 7 Wks session.     

Graduation Fee This fee is discontinued beginning in the Fall 2012 semester. 
International Student Processing Fee $200 per semester
Nursing Program Fee $250 per semester beginning in Fall 2012 or $400 per semester beginning in Fall 2013  - charged to students who have been accepted into, and are enrolling in, the College's Nursing program.
Student Hospitalization *** $35 per semester - required for full-time students beginning in Fall 2012; expected to be eliminated by the Fall 2013 semester.

   NOTES:
*     Tuition and fees are subject to change.
**   The late registration fee will be assessed two weeks before the start of the registered class's part of term.  For example, the late registration fee will be assessed with registrations on or after 5/06/13 for the Summer 2013 full term; on or after 8/21/13 for the Fall 2013 full term.

*** Students registered for 12 or more credits in the Fall 2012 or Spring 2013 Semester are assessed a $35 health insurance fee unless an insurance waiver is completed.  Legislation (S2291) affecting Student Health insurance has been approved by the NJ Senate and General Assembly.  Once the bill becomes law, RVCC will no longer require full-time students to maintain health insurance coverage.  This is expected to occur prior to the start of the Fall 2013 semester.
