Tuition

In-County (Hunterdon/Somerset) Tuition

$137 per credit beginning in Fall 2015 or $144 per credit beginning in Fall 2016 (includes hybrid courses).  Hybrid courses are charged as regular classes with lab fees.

Out-of-County Tuition $167 per credit beginning in Fall 2015 or $179 per credit beginning in Fall 2016 (includes hybrid courses).  Hybrid courses are charged as regular classes with lab fees. 
Out-of-County tuition also applies to out-of-state residents.

(Note: An Out-of-County resident who provides written verification from his/her employer of current employment in either Somerset or Hunterdon County will receive a $30 per credit hour reduction from the standard Out-of-County resident rate beginning in Fall 2015 or a $35 per credit hour reductions from the standard Out-of-County resident rate beginning in Fall 2016.)

RVCC On-Line Courses and NJ Virtual Community College Course Tuition $176 per credit beginning in Fall 2015 or $185 per credit beginning in Fall 2016.   No fees charged.
Early College Program Tuition (High school students taking courses on the RVCC Main Campus or RVCC-Bridgewater location)

Beginning in Fall 2014, regular college tuition (In-County or Out-of-County, as applicable) and fees apply to all courses. 

Concurrent Enrollment Program Tuition (High school students taking courses at their High School) $175 for each course taken at the student's high school beginning in Fall 2013 or $200 for each course taken at the student's high school beginning in Fall 2016 without limit to the number of courses taken in a semester.  Participation in the Concurrent Enrollment Program will not preclude high school students from enrolling in the Early College Program.
 

Tuition Waivers  

To claim a waiver, a student must register in person and present all required waiver eligibility documentation at the time of registration. Waivers are not applied retroactively to existing registrations.
Students with tuition waivers are responsible for all fees and for the costs of all textbooks and other instructional materials associated with the courses for which they enroll.

Hunterdon / Somerset Senior Citizen Tuition/Partial Fee Waiver

College policy allows Somerset and Hunterdon county residents, age 65 and older, to audit one qualifying academic-credit course each semester on a space available basis and receive a tuition/partial fee waiver.  

For the Fall 2016 semester:  Beginning on August 24, 2016, five business days prior to the start of the semester, Somerset and Hunterdon County senior citizens may enroll in person in the Enrollment Services Office to audit one qualifying class in which there is an available seat.  The senior citizen will be responsible for paying the $32 Enrollment Fee per course as well as all related lab and course fees. Books and special materials will also be the responsibility of the senior citizen.  The Late Registration fee is waived for accepted Senior Citizen Waiver registrations.   

If you register earlier than five (5) business days immediately prior to the start of the semester, you will be charged at the regular rate of $144 per credit beginning in Fall 2016 plus fees.  

Independent or guided study courses do not qualify for the senior citizen tuition waiver.  Proof of residency and age must be presented at the time of registration. For seniors who have never attended the College, an admissions application is required but the $25 application fee will be waived.  

Unemployment Tuition Waiver

For the Summer 2016 semester:  College policy allows Somerset/Hunterdon county resident students who have received tuition waivers to register beginning on May 9, 2016, five (5) business days prior to the start of classes.  All students not residing in Somerset/Hunterdon county who have received tuition waivers may register beginning on May 13, 2016one (1) business day prior to the start of classes. 

For the Fall 2016 semester:  College policy allows Somerset/Hunterdon county resident students who have received tuition waivers to register beginning on August 24, 2016, five (5) business days prior to the start of classes.  All students not residing in Somerset/Hunterdon county who have received tuition waivers may register beginning on August 30, 2016one (1) business day prior to the start of classes. 

Out-of-County residents must first apply to their home county college.  Prior to registering, students must complete the FAFSA financial aid application and receive an approved waiver (Unemployment Certification) from the One-Stop office.  Both must be presented at the time of initial registration.  Students are responsible for paying all fees charged (Fees Apply).  The Late Registration fee is waived for Unemployment Waiver registrations.

If you register earlier than five (5) business days (for in-county residents) or one (1) day (for out-of-county residents) immediately prior to the start of classes, or have not presented both the completed FAFSA and the approved waiver from the One-Stop office at the time of initial registration: 
  ~  an in-county resident will be charged at the regular rate of $137 per credit beginning in Fall 2015 plus fees or $144 per credit beginning in Fall 2016 plus fees
  ~  an out-of-county resident will be charged at the rate of $167 per credit beginning in Fall 2015 plus fees or $179 per credit beginning in Fall 2016 plus fees. 
Chargebacks cannot be used for this waiver program.

National Guard & National Guard Reserves Tuition Waiver Tuition waiver for up to 16 credits per semester for members of the New Jersey National Guard or the New Jersey National Guard Reserves only. Students are responsible for paying all fees charged (Fees Apply).
Volunteer Firefighters & Volunteer Emergency Medical Personnel Tuition Waiver 
                               
Tuition waiver of up to $600 per year and $2,400 lifetime per family (volunteer, spouse and children) of volunteers in active service as a volunteer firefighter or volunteer emergency medical service worker. Students are responsible for paying all fees charged (Fees Apply).

September 11th Victims' Families Tuition Waiver Tuition waiver for victims of the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001 or for a member of the victim's immediate family. Students are responsible for paying all fees charged (Fees Apply).

Fees 
Application Fee $25
General Registration Fee $22 per credit hour - charged to all students except for on-line or Concurrent Enrollment Program courses.  The General Registration Fee will be charged to all Early College Program students.
Laboratory/Studio/Activity Fee                 Most fees can range from $60-$180 per course - charged to all students enrolled in classes identified as having this fee in the semester's Class Schedule; will be charged for hybrid courses.  The fee specific to individual courses are indicated in the semester's Schedule of Classes.
The College may change existing course/lab fees or add new fees with 30 days notice prior to the start of each semester.
Technology Fee $100 per semester for a full-time student; $80 per semester for a part-time student - charged to all students except for those enrolling exclusively in on-line courses or Concurrent Enrollment Program courses.  The Technology Fee will be charged to all Early College Program students. 
Enrollment Service Fee $32 per semester - charged to all students except for those enrolling exclusively in on-line courses or Concurrent Enrollment Program courses.  The Enrollment Services Fee will be charged to all Early College Program students.
Developmental Course Fee $15 charged to students in one or more developmental courses per semester.
Official Transcript Fee $5
Returned Item Fee $25 for each returned Check, Credit Card charge and/or ACH transaction.
Late Registration Fee **

  $50 - for Summer 2016, assessed with registrations on or after
 •  5/02/16 for Summer 2016 Full Term, ESL 9 Week & Summer I First 6 Week sessions; 
 •  5/24/16 for Summer 2016 III 9 Week session; and
 •  6/20/16 for
Summer 2016 II Second 6 Week session.

  $50 - for Fall 2016, assessed with registrations on or after:
 •  8/17/16 for Fall 2016 Full Term & Fall First 7 Week session; 
 •  8/31/16 for Fall 2016 12 week session (late start); and
 •  10/05/16 for Fall 2016 Second 7 Week session.

International Student Processing Fee $200 per semester
Nursing Program Fee $440 per semester beginning in Fall 2015 or $480 per semester beginning in Fall 2016  - charged to students who have been accepted into, and are enrolling in, the College's Nursing program.
Honors College Fee   $125 per semester beginning in Fall 2015 or $150 per credit beginning in Fall 2016  - charged to students who have been accepted into, and are enrolling in, the Honors College program.  

  NOTES:
*     Tuition and fees are subject to change.
**   The late registration fee will be assessed two weeks before the start of the registered class's part of term.  For example, the $50 late registration fee will be assessed with registrations on or after 5/02/16 for the Summer 2016 full term or on or after 8/17/16 for the Fall 2016 full term.
