ATHLETIC HANDBOOK

Health & Safety

  • The coach will ensure that all players have passed an appropriate athletic physical prior to the start of practice.
  • Injuries must be reported immediately to the Director of Athletics and Recreation utilizing the appropriate accident form.
  • All players returning to the team after an injury must be cleared by the College nurse.
  • At no time will a coach utilize an injured player or one under medication.
  • Coaches are not authorized to issue any form of medication. The use of drugs or stimulants is strictly prohibited.
  • Players utilizing the trainers’ room must be supervised by a College employee at all times.
  • Physical conditioning is stressed in all sports.
  • The coach shall be responsible for the health and safety of his/her players during practices, scrimmages, and intercollegiate events.
  • Coaches must have a first-aid kit at every practice and athletic contest.
