| CEP offers numerous advantages for students, faculty and parents. Some of them include the following:
|

RVCC offers introductory level courses that typically satisfy basic requirements in a broad range of majors and that have an excellent record of transferability. These are rigorous college courses using the same course outlines, assignments and examinations as those courses taught on the RVCC campus. The College determines course offerings. These may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Courses may be offered online. A course facilitator should be available, on site, to help students enrolled in online courses and encourage them to stay on task. |

![]() Students will pay the College Admissions Application Fee (first time only) and applicable tuition. All other fees will be waived. |

High school juniors or seniors may participate in the program if they meet the following criteria:

An RVCC course is an RVCC course no matter where it is offered. College
course outlines and College selected textbooks must be used regardless of
the venue. All CEP courses are the same as those regularly offered at Raritan
Valley Community College.Either full-time faculty, adjuncts, or high school faculty serving as College adjuncts teach CEP courses. The College is responsible for selection of the instructor. RVCC faculty and administration carefully monitor the course to ensure that curriculum and grading standards in CEP courses are identical to those sections taught at the College. Students who successfully complete course work taken through the CEP program have their earned credits documented on an official RVCC transcript. These credits can either be applied to RVCC degree programs or transferred to other colleges and universities nationally. Credits accrued in this program are included in calculations for financial aid. |

RVCC course credits have been accepted by colleges and universities throughout
the United States.Since credit recognition remains the exclusive preogative of the institution granting it, and such recognition on the part of an institution in the past is no guarantee of future acceptance, students are strongly encouraged to review the content of courses with transfer counselors at the college of their choice. Many factors affect the decision to accept transfer credits, including the grade the student earned in the course. Usually, however, colleges accept courses in which the student received a C grade or above, and that are a good match for those the student would have taken on that campus. Courses that differ from those RVCC offers may also be transferred, but often as elective credit. Of course, students who continue their studies at RVCC after high school automatically have the credits and grades they earned in the CEP program on their record as a continuing RVCC student. More information about transferring. |

The teaching credential requirement is the same for all RVCC instructors
regardless of the venue. High school faculty selected to teach CEP courses
will be recommended by the principal and meet the minimum academic requirements
for RVCC adjunct faculty, namely a master's degree in the subject area.
The Dean of Academic and Student Services, with input from department chairs,
will have responsibility for selection and approval of adjunct faculty.
Upon being selected, the adjunct will have an orientation with an RVCC faculty
member teaching the same course. This includes a discussion of the course
syllabi, books, requirements for successful completion, and evaluation criteria
for determining final grades. |
