Professional Experience
Franklin Township Police Department, Franklin, New Jersey. Officer/ Patrolman (1996- Present). Assigned as a Community Policing Officer to help improve the quality of life in a high crime residential area by interacting with the community and building relationships with such programs as P.A.C.E.R. (Police and Children Engaged in Reading), and the after school homework club. Advisor for the Police Explorer Program and Certified Field Training Officer responsible for training new officers in the field as well as on departmental guidelines. In-service trainer firearms, use of force and various mandatory annual training. Currently assigned to the Professional Services Bureau of Technology and Communications. Also serve as the Township’s 9-1-1 Coordinator and assist the Office of Emergency Management. Special duty: A member of the Somerset County Arson Task Force (Somerset County Prosecutors Office).
State Certified Police Instructor, assist in instructing at the Somerset County Police Academy since 1998. Lead instructor for Instructional Unit 10.22 fire, which includes: classification of fires, methods of extinguishments, building searches, hazardous conditions and natural gas leaks.
Finderne Fire Department, Bridgewater, New Jersey. 1st Assistant Chief (1990- Present). Administrative Assistant to the Chief responsible for reports in the National Incident Fire Reporting System, correspondences and department training. Also responsible for Engine Company Operations on the fire ground. Represents the Fire Department to the public during Fire Safety Week by speaking at schools to advocate fire safety and an educator for the Juvenile Fire Setter Program.
Raritan Valley Community College, North Branch, New Jersey. Adjunct Professor (2001- Present). Adjunct Professor for the Business Department, Criminal Justice.
Monroe Fire Department District #3, Monroe Township, New Jersey, Substitute Career Firefighter (November 2003- Present). Paid Firefighter.
Bridgewater Township Fire District #4, Bridgewater, New Jersey. Elected Fire Commissioner (January 1992- August 1993). Responsible for the budget, expenses, apparatus and equipment in Fire District #4.
