Introduction to WS_FTP95

In order to use the GUI File Transfer Protocol (FTP) program: WS_FTP95, one has to configure it as shown below:

As shown in the figure above your WS_FTP program session profile should be configured properly before using the ftp.

• In the profile name: rvcc
• In the Host Name: rvcc.raritanval.edu
• In the User ID:preddy (your login name on the ftp server)
• Password:******
• Initial Directories--Remote Host: Leave this Area Blank if path is unknown
• Local PC: C:\reddy\WEBPAGE (type the directory path name on your local machine)
• When you are all done configuring click on OK

Now as shown in the above figure select the file you would like to download from the remote system by selecting the file name from the Right Hand Side Column then click on the arrow <-----

If you are downloading a graphics file such as .gif, .jpg click on the binary transmission mode, if it is text click on ASCII mode. Selecting binary works for both modes.

Anonymous FTP

You need to configure the WS_FTP as shown above, if you are interested to do anonymous ftp.

• Type the host name
• User ID:anonymous
• Password:your complete e-mail address
• Local PC:local PC path name
• Check on anonymous Login
• Then click on OK
