CISY 125 - Computer Project 8 (EXTRA CREDIT)
This project can be used to replace your lowest Project grade of the
projects 1-7
This project uses files. See the files notes from the Instructor's Notes on his
Web Page. Do not use a FOR LOOP, use a DO WHILE with the EOF function
Springfield Nuclear wants a report that will show each employee's
monthly salary with their FICA tax, NJ Tax, their 401k Contribution
and their net pay. (See the report below for ALL of the columns)
The report will be generated based on data in a file
The file to be read contains the Employee Name, Annual Salary, and
their 401k% contribution as a whole number.
For this program, assume the following
- Monthly Salary = Annual Salary / 12
- all employees pay the same FICA tax rate of 28% (FICA Tax =
Monthly Salary * .28)
- all employees pay the same NJ Tax rate of 6% (NJ Tax =
Monthly Salary * .06)
- Since the 401k% is given as a whole number, you need to divide
that number by 100. (401k Contribution = Monthly Salary * 401k% / 100)
- Net Pay is the Monthly Salary - FICA Tax - NJ Tax - 401k contribution
- Assume all employees are contributiong to the 401k with after tax dollars
