Question:
JRE - Java Runtime Environment - missing or corrupted.

Answer:

First confirm if the JRE is corrupted, missing, or out-of-date, in Internet Explorer:

Tools > Internet Options... > button "Settings..." > button "View Objects..."

then make sure to "View" the "Details" to see the status, if any, of the Java Runtime Environment.

If under "Status" you see "Damaged" or anything other than "Installed"...
at www.java.com click the link "Verify Installation".
Follow the prompts.

Question:
How do I edit my Welcome page?

Answer:

1. Login to the College Network
   (in the office, login when you turn on your computer;
   at home, login to Lion’s Den at least once daily)
2. Open a browser and go to http://webct.raritanval.edu/.
   Login (use the same login and password that you used to login to the network.)
3. Click on the name of your course to enter it.
4. Click the Control Panel button in the upper left.
5. Click on "Edit welcome page" in the Course Settings column.
6. Click on the radio button to the left of the section that you want to edit, then click the Edit button on the right.
   You can edit among the code, or click the HTML editor button to edit.
7. Don’t forget to click the Update button!

Question:
How do I edit a single page not on a Table of Contents?

Answer:

Edit the file in the Manage Files area.

Click on the file name.  It brings up WebCT's HTML editing box.
Under the biggest box to the lower left is the "HTML editor" button.
It uses Java.
If Java isn't working correctly, please go to www.java.com and click the link "Verify Installation".
Follow the prompts.

Question:
Why do students claim they can't see a Quiz/Test/Exam I know I made available?

Answer:

Check the icon to make sure it is listing ALL the available Quizzes/Tests/Exams instead of only a limited subset.
In Designer view, click the radio button next to the icon for Quizzes/Tests/Exams.
Click the button "Edit'.
Under the area "Quiz listing: Select the quizzes and surveys you would like to link to."
look for a list of Quizzes in blue text.
It will normally say "All quizzes and surveys".
