Learn more about Raritan Valley Community College’s Automotive Technology program at two upcoming Information Sessions, April 26 and May 25, both from 3-4:30 p.m. The events will be held in the Automotive Lab, located in RVCC’s new Workforce Training Center, at the College’s Branchburg campus.

During the sessions, prospective students will have an opportunity to learn about the innovative and successful program, meet with staff and faculty, and explore the exciting career potential in the field of automotive technology. The Automotive Technology program is partnering with the manufacturing industry to bring specialized training from Subaru and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). Program graduates will attain additional industry credentials from Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), Mobile Air Conditioning Society (MACS), Snap-On, and other industry partners to allow students to stand out to potential employers.

In designing the Automotive Technology program, RVCC’s education team partnered with local employers and expert workers to detail the knowledge, skills, traits and behaviors essential to becoming a successful Automotive Technician. The program, which has been highly praised by area employers, is now providing the ASE student certification testing. This is the nationally recognized automotive technicians’ credentials for assessment of skills.

Graduates of the program, which is financial aid eligible, will receive a Certificate in Automotive Technology. In the past two years, 90 percent of program graduates have obtained employment in the automotive field. Graduates have worked at manufacturer dealerships, franchise repair shops and privately owned shops.
