Ron Washington from the Raritan Valley Community College men’s basketball team has been named Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) Division II Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending November 27. Washington, a freshman forward, had a big game during the Lions’ narrow 82-80 defeat against Lackawanna College on November 22. He scored 11 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, and played solid defense with four blocks. The Jersey City native is currently averaging 13 points and 11 rebounds per game during his first collegiate season.

Washington is RVCC’s third Player of the Week from the men’s basketball team this season. Freshman guard Kevin Saylor was named Player of the Week for the week ending November 13, and sophomore guard Zaire Robinson received the same accolades for the week ending November 6.

The RVCC Lions currently have a 5-2 record for the 2016-17 season.
