RVCC Student Jazz Ensemble to Perform

Raritan Valley Community College’s (RVCC) Student Jazz Ensemble will perform in concert Thursday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m., in the Welpe Theatre at the College’s Branchburg campus.

The group is directed by John Loehrke of New York City.

The ensemble will perform pieces by a variety of jazz artists, including Count Basie, Pat Metheny, Horace Silver, Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Charles Mingus and Wes Montgomery. The group also will perform music from the great American songbook featuring music by Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Kurt Weill and Wilbur Schwandt. The highlight of these performances will feature spontaneous improvisations by student musicians.

The Student Jazz Ensemble includes the following members: Keith Bernstein, Branchburg; Mason L. Shepherd Jr., Jon Loree, and Chris Loree, Hillsborough; Jason Zujkowski, Manville; Daniel Tenenbaum, Kyle J. Lynch,  Bridgewater; Maxwell Mellies, North Plainfield; Stephen Pettinelli, Alpha; Sara Dalen, Alexandria; Nicholas Blue, Joe Maselli, Steven Comanda, Somerville; Zach Seif, Joe Leandro, Middlesex;  Christopher “Kip” Zanardi, Bernardsville; Drew Possumaro, Allendale; Chris Shaffer, Branchburg; Joseph Hill, Hackettstown; Devin A Johnson, Piscataway; Cole Herudek, Clinton; Giovanni Rosario, Phillipsburg; Rimsha Jaial, Edison; and Chris Compton, Long Hill.
