Preschool - Kindergarten
ROCKIN' ROCKET RIDE
Designed for Preschool - Kindergarten
Put on your space suit and blast-off into outer space to visit the Moon, Sun and planets. A lively experience for young people with selected music from "Journey Into Space" by Jane Murphy.

Grades 1-3
The SECRET of the CARDBOARD ROCKET
Designed for grades 1 - 3
Students travel with two adventurous youngsters in their cardboard rocket as they explore the Sun and the planets of the solar system. This show is designed to encourage the use of libraries, enhance language skills and develop individual imagination.

The LITTLE STAR THAT COULD
Designed for grades 1 - 3
Travel with an average yellow star on his quest to find a planet to call his own. Follow him as he encounters a number of strange stars including a "cool" red star and a "hot" blue star, double stars and the Milky Way galaxy.

FOLLOW the DRINKING GOURD
Designed for grades 2-4
Based on Jeanette Winters' book by the same title, this show describes the astronomy behind the slave song "Follow the Drinking Gourd." It tells the story of a slave family as they travel by foot from Alabama to Ohio where the underground railroad helped them escape to freedom in Canada.

SKY LIGHTS laser and video concert
Recommended for PreK and up 
Lasers and video clips animate music by singer/songwriter mr. RAY and Jane Murphy’s “Journey into Space” CD.  Sing along to “Kalien, the Alien” and “Moon, Rock, Rock.”

Grades 3-5

GORDON and GRANDMA EXPLORE the MOON

Designed for grades 3-5

Gordon's Grandma helps him with his report on the Moon by explaining phases, eclipses, history, and more.  Hear a Native American story about the Moon as well.  Grandma and Gordon us a ball and a light to understand why the Moon changes shape in the sky, an activity you can do as well.  Gordon realizes by the end of the show how special our moon is.


SPACE BUS
Designed for grades 3 - 5
Climb on board the Space Bus and take a field trip through the solar system with the kids from Asimov Elementary School. Share the class' adventures and mis-adventures as they learn about the mysteries of space.

Join Jody and her two elf friends as they search for space objects to include in the alphabet astronomy book they are writing Learn about asteroids, planets, supernovas, black holes and more.

EMPIRE of the SUN
Designed for grades 5 - 8
Take a grand tour of the solar system including the Earth and the Sun. Students look at the information about the outer planets which has been gathered by the Voyager spacecrafts.

ADVENTURES ALONG the SPECTRUM
Designed for grades 5 - 8
Follow the misadventures of the friendly, but somewhat forgetful Professor Photon as he explores the invisible and eerie realms of light and energy. An excellent introduction to the spectrum and its importance to astronomy.

LIFE BEYOND EARTH
Designed for grades 7 -12
Are we alone in the Cosmos? Travel back in time and probe space for evidence of life on other planets. Examine the rise of life on Earth and our first attempts to seek out our neighbors in space.

It's Not Your Parents' Solar System
Designed for grades 7 -12
We can all name the planets in our solar system in order from the Sun.  We can list facts about each of them.  But that doesn't lead us to an understanding of the solar system.  This program presents our solar system in a new, and sometimes controversial, way.  Planets are classified.  Questions are raised.  Current science is discussed.

Grades 3-12

LIVE SEASONAL STAR SHOW
Modified for each group, grades 3-12
Introduce your students to the wonders of the night sky. This program includes locating stars, constellations, and planets in the current evening sky, stories of the constellations, movement of objects across the sky, and current events in astronomy. Program can be geared towards current topics in the news or tailored to your needs, such as Seasons, Moon Phases, coordinate Systems, Daily and Annual Motion of the Sky and Planets.

LASER CONCERTS
Watch lasers draw pictures on the dome while music plays.


Educational Shows Performance Information:

Show times are Monday - Friday at
10:00  a.m.
11:00 a.m.

12 Noon
1:00  p.m.
Admission Fee: $5.00 per person for groups of 15 or more
or $9.00 per person for two planetarium shows on the same day.
One adult admitted free for every 10 students.
Reservations are required at least two weeks prior to performance.  Our February - June calendar fills up very quickly.  Please call early in the school year to reserve your trip.
