G.E.D. Testing Information
Acceptable Forms of Identification:
2 forms are required on the day of testing, one of which
must be a PRIMARY document. PHOTOCOPIES WILL NOT
BE ACCEPTED. After review of all identification presented, the testing center
staff has the right to refuse or accept any document.
EXAMPLES OF PRIMARY DOCUMENTS (at least
one of these must be presented):
- Driver's License: must have photograph, must be
current and must display a person's name, current address and signature
- State Issued Identification Card with photograph
- Immigration & Naturalization Service (INS) Documents:
must be original, valid and must contain a photograph
- Military Identification with photograph
- Alien Registration Card with photograph
- Valid passport with recent photograph
- Court Issued photo identification
- Citizenship papers with photograph
- Please
note that exceptions to the requirement for a photograph may be made
on religious grounds when sufficient documentation for such an exemption
is provided to the G.E.D. examiner.
EXAMPLES OF SECONDARY DOCUMENTS:
- Official Social Security Card
- Credit Card
- Employer Identification Card with photograph
- Health Insurance Card (i.e. Blue Cross/Blue Shield)
- Marriage Certificate or License
- Military Discharge Separation Papers
Examples of UNACCEPTABLE IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENTS:
- ID with no photograph
- Expired Passport
- Expired Driver's License
- Expired Credit Card
