G.E.D. Testing
Information
- There are five parts to the G.E.D. test. All five
parts are timed and must be completed in two testing sessions within
30 days. NO TEST WILL BE ADMINISTERED WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT.
- If you fail to come to the second session, your
test will be scanned for scoring and you will receive an incomplete score.
- All tests are scanned and posted with an outside scoring service, NRSpro. You can
log on to www.GED123.org with your individual access code. There you will be able to view your scores a week after your last testing session.
- THERE IS NO WRITING OR MARKING IN THE TEST BOOKLET
AND ALL TESTS ARE CLOSED-BOOK. READ ALL DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE
BEGINNING EACH SECTION OF THE TEST.
Writing (Language Arts)
Minimum passing score: 410
- 120 minutes; 50 items
Multiple choice -- 75 minutes
Two page essay -- 45 minutes
Total time -- 120
May go back to multiple choice if finished
with essay before time is up
- Make sure you read the instructions on the
back of the test before beginning
Math Minimum passing score: 410
- Part I: 45 minutes; 25 items; Calculator
Part II: 45 minutes; 25 items; NO calculator
Total time -- 90 minutes
Casio fx-260 Solar Calculator provided
- You may work on both Part I and Part II for
the remainder of the 90 minutes if you finish Part II early,
but you may not use the calculator.
Science, Reading (Language Arts), Social Studies Minimum passing score for EACH: 410
- Science: 80 minutes; 50 items
Reading: 65 minutes; 40 items
Social Studies: 70 minutes; 50 items
- Total time -- 215 minutes
IN ORDER TO PASS THE G.E.D. ALL FIVE PARTS MUST
BE COMPLETED WITH A MINIMUM PASSING SCORE ON EACH PART AND A TOTAL
MINIMUM SCORE OF 2250.
