Safe Communities Coalition, formerly H.O.P.E (Healthy Options for Prevention and Education)

The H.O.P.E Project was a substance abuse prevention grant from the N.J. Division of Addiction Services to reduce the harmful consequences of alcohol and drug use among those 18 to 25 years old in Somerset and Hunterdon Counties.  It  is part of a federal initiative of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).  While the H.O.P.E. Project ended in September 2012, the coalition will continue its efforts through the Safe Communities Coalition of Hunterdon and Somerset Counties.

The Healthy Options for Prevention and Education (H.O.P.E) has been a vital resource to Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC)  students, faculty and staff, offering educational and environmental strategies and programs to address the harmful effects of alcohol and other drug use.
