The Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad (BHVRS) is offeringa College Tuition Scholarship Program beginning in Fall 2008. Applicants must have a valid New Jersey EMT card, at least six (6) months experience, be an active full-time or part-time student, abide by the Constitution and By-Laws of the BHVRS, and cover 14 12-hour shifts during the length of the semester. Applicants will receive uniforms and necessary equipment as well as $1800 towards tuition. This payment will be made directly to the College on the student's behalf. The first payment will be made after the first seven (7) weeks of the semester with the balance paid at the end of the semester. The TWIN Management Forum of Central New Jersey offers a Scholarship Program to support its commitment to the ongoing educational advancement for women. For 2008, the program included at least two awards of $1000 each. The scholarships must be used for education-related expenses. Candidates must be women at the undergraduate level whose college work is needed for entry or reentry into the workplace or career development. This award is not for recent high school graduates. Candidates must demonstrate financial need and realistic goals. Candidates must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States living in areas served by the YWCA TWIN Program of Central NJ (Somerset, Union, Middlesex and portions of Hunterdon, Morris, Essex, and Monmouth Counties).Candidates must also be willing to work with a career mentor if assigned one. The Gilman International Scholarship Program provides awards of up to $5,000 for U.S. undergraduate students to study abroad for upto one academic year. The program serves students who have been under-represented in study abroad which includes but is not limited to: students with high financial need, community college students, students in under-represented fields such as the sciences and engineering, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds, students attending minority-serving institutions, and students with disabilities. Students must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant at the time of application and cannot be studying abroad in a country currently under a U.S. Department of State Travel Warning or in Cuba. Great Clips: Alice Madden Barton Cosmetology School Scholarship Program
These scholarships can be used at any cosmetology or barbering school.
The scholarships are given out twice a year in January and July to applicants who can demonstrate a passion for the craft and dedication todeveloping their skills.
The Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation
Applications are collected from January 1 through June 1 of each year.
Postmark/FaxDeadline: June 1st of each year. To be considered, applicant must be currentlyapplying for entrance into Cosmetology/Barber School, OR actively enrolled in aCosmetology/Barber program. If yougraduate from Cosmetology or Barber School between the dates of: January 1st through August 31st of the currentaward year, you are not eligible. Estheticianor Nail training students are not eligible.

A total of five winning applicants will be chosen, each receiving a scholarshipof $1,000. Allwinners receive a one-year Student Membership with the PBA/NCA (ProfessionalBeauty Association/ National Cosmetology Association).

Lifetime Member Scholarship
Another way PBA honorsLifetime Members is through educational scholarships. These scholarshipscelebrate the spirit of commitment to the association which has beendemonstrated by the Lifetime Member through fostering the advancement andeducation of individual members. Scholarships will be awarded to current PBAindividual and student members to use towards continuing education orcosmetology school. A total of eight (8)$1,000 scholarships will be awarded over a two-year period (four (4) per year).
Vidal Sassoon Professional Beauty EducationScholarship Program – Basic

The program is funded by a $1.5 million grant established by Wella, the Salon Division of P&G,to award scholarships to beginning cosmetologists and working hairdressersseeking advanced training. Thisscholarship program is open to cosmetology students who are not active in aprogram prior to August 5, 2013. Tenwinners will receive 50% of tuition covered to a qualifying cosmetology school. This competition is designed forprospective and newer students.
