New full-time students (first time in college) are required to attend a R.O.A.R.S.: Raritan Orientation, Advising & Registration Sessions on the main campus in North Branch.New part-time students are also encouraged to attend R.O.A.R.S.
New Students should review the New Student Planning Guide before attending R.O.A.R.S.
New students (first time in college) must complete placement testing or submit SAT/ACT scores that quality for exemption from placement testing, before attending a R.O.A.R.S. session.
English as a Second Language (ESL) students: R.O.A.R.S. is not recommended ESL students. If you are a new ESL student, please call 908.526.1200 x8336 or x8330 for the ESL Advising Schedule. The ESL Advising Schedule will also be posted in the RVCC Testing Center.
- Before enrollment, it is mandatory that a freshman Dance or Music Major contact the Visual & Performing Arts Department for an interview and placement testing with a member of the department faculty. Contact Sandy in the Music Department at 908.218.8876 to make an appointment for your audition.
If you need accommodations please contact Disability Services at 908.526.1200 Ext. 8418. A minimum of 48 hours notice is required to provide accommodations.
ROARS sessions are scheduled from April through August - additional dates will be posted throughout the Spring and Summer.
New Students who would like to meet with an Advisor to discuss their major or classes before they attend a R.O.A.R.S. session should contact the First-Year Experience Office (College Center 143) at 908-526-1200 x8921 (D. Ross) or x8944 (S. Risler).
