“Saluting the Past, Present and Future by Celebrating My History, Your
History, Our History,” a series of events celebrating Black History
Month throughout February.
All Black History
Month programs at the College are free of charge and open to the public.
All events will be held from noon-1:30 p.m. at RVCC’s North Branch
Campus. For a complete listing of events, click on

View the
Lunar Eclipse
Members of the community are invited to view the March 3 lunar eclipse
through telescopes outside the RVCC Planetarium.

A
lunar eclipse occurs when a full moon passes through the Earth’s shadow.
A total lunar eclipse usually occurs every 12 to 18 months, but isn’t
always visible to us in New Jersey. The March 3rd eclipse
will already have started when we see the moon rising in the east at
sunset.
The Planetarium will also present a short talk about why eclipses occur,
offering some of the lore about the phenomena. Lecture/telescope
viewings will be held at 5:30, 6, 6:30 and 7 p.m. The public is
encouraged to bring binoculars to observe the event.
Telescope viewings are free of charge. Admission to the lecture is $3
per person.

“My
approach to teaching has been greatly influenced by the work of Paulo
Freire and bell hooks, who focus on student empowerment and active
learning. This empowerment involves students becoming responsible for
their education and developing the critical thinking skills necessary to
navigate our world. I weave popular culture into my composition courses
not only because it catches the students’ attention, but more
importantly, it also teaches them to think critically about the media.” |

Hamlet
(Det
Lille Turneteater)
Friday, March 30, at 10 a.m.
Recommended for grades 7-12
Shakespeare’s tragedy is performed by two actors and two double bass
players in a fresh, up-to-date version. Without losing the seriousness
and depth of the original play, four superb performers create illusions
out of almost nothing, playing all the characters, male and female, with
striking flair.
