Partners with RVCC

Interested in a career as a line worker or a substation electrician? RVCC is partnering with First Energy to offer an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electric Utility Technology. Last month seven RVCC students graduated from the program, which prepares students for long-term employment opportunities in a variety of electrical fields, with an emphasis in the line worker/substation area. The curriculum prepares students for hands-on transmission support system installation/maintenance and electrical substation maintenance.

Classes are taught at RVCC’s North Branch Campus and at a FirstEnergy facility located near the College.

Beginning in the Fall 2007 Semester, qualified students enrolled in the two-year Power Systems Institute program will receive free tuition, including College fees, books and required protective clothing.
