Free Biotechnology Seminars Slated

The public is invited to attend a series of free Biotechnology Seminars sponsored by RVCC’s Science and Engineering Department. All seminars are held Thursdays, at 6 p.m., in the East Building (Room 109), at the College’s North Branch Campus.

RVCC to Hold Free Biotechnology Seminars



RVCC Students to Stage Gurney Play

 

RVCC’s Visual and Performing Arts Department will present a student theatre production of A.R. Gurney’s Overtime, November 14-17, at 8 p.m., in the Welpe Theatre at the College’s North Branch Campus.

 

Overtime is a modern sequel to Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice. The production is suitable for audience members age 16 and older.

Honor Society to Host Holiday Fest

 

The public is invited to attend Holiday Fest 2007, Saturday, November 17, 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m., at RVCC’s Conference Center. The event, which is being sponsored by RVCC’s chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, will feature a wide variety of vendors selling a diverse selection of gifts and services—from handmade jewelry and exclusive pictures frames, to pet supplies and henna tattoos.

 

All proceeds from the event will be donated to The Well Project’s AIDS Awareness Campaign and to a local animal shelter.

Register Now for the Spring, Summer Semesters

High school juniors and seniors can jump start their college education by taking courses at RVCC. Register now for the Spring or Summer 2008 sessions. 
Students enrolled in RVCC’s Early Credits program pay only $150 for the first course.

The Spring Semester starts January 22.

RVCC Sets Annual Holiday Art Show, Sale

 

RVCC’s Visual and Performing Arts Department will present its annual Holiday Art Show and Sale, November 27-30, in the Art Gallery at the College’s North Branch Campus. The show/sale will feature a varied display of ceramics created by RVCC’s students, instructors and alumni.

Student Jazz Ensemble to Perform

The RVCC Student Jazz Ensemble will perform in concert Thursday, November 29, at 8 p.m., in the Welpe Theatre at the College’s North Branch Campus.

 

The group will perform original arrangements by such composers as Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Horace Silver, Ken Smith, Rogers and Hammerstein, Louis Jordan, Miles Davis, Oliver Nelson, and Tiomkin and Washington.

RVCC Presents Art Faculty Exhibition

RVCC’s Visual and Performing Arts Department is presenting the RVCC Art Faculty Exhibition, through November 20, in the Art Gallery at the College’s North Branch Campus. The exhibition features a wide range of media, including drawings, paintings, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, video, graphic design, digital media and photography.

Theatre at RVCC


 

 

The Theatre at RVCC offers a variety of performances appropriate for teens—from acrobatics and comedy to musical theatre and magic. Professional educators, with school ID, can receive a 50 percent educator discount on up to four tickets per show.
