New Sr. Vice
President Named
Dr. Dehlly Porras
has been named Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at RVCC. In
that position, she will serve as chief academic officer of the College
and will have direct responsibility for faculty, curriculum, instruction
and assessment of all credit programs.
Dr. Porras has 28
years of academic leadership experience and currently serves as
Instructional Dean at Montgomery College in Maryland. She also has held
leadership positions at the State University of New York – Hudson Valley
Community College and the City University of New York – LaGuardia
Community College.

RVCC’s Careers
Services Department will sponsor an Accounting and Finance Career
Seminar Thursday, March 20, from 6-8 p.m., in The Conference Center
at the College’s North Branch Campus. The program is free of charge
and open to the public. The event was originally scheduled for
February 12 but was postponed due to inclement weather.
Participants
will learn about a variety of careers in Accounting and Finance as
they interact with professionals in roundtable sessions.

The Planetarium at RVCC will present “Launching DAWN (and Phoenix): From Behind the Scenes at Kennedy Space Center Press Site,” Wednesday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m.

The lecture, which is open to the public, will be given by Dr. Ken Kremer, a NASA JPL Solar System Ambassador and member of The Planetary Society.
