The Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) Foundation raised over $148,000 at its 16th Annual Golf Classic, held July 8 at Stanton Ridge Golf and Country Club in Whitehouse Station.

The RVCC Foundation Golf Classic is the non-profit’s largest fundraising event of the year. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and community partners, this year’s Classic was another successful tournament. Net proceeds raised from the golf outing and the live and silent auctions will provide student scholarships and support for RVCC’s educational programming and institutional priorities.

W.B. Mason provided major funding as the Title Sponsor for the event. Other key sponsors for the 16th Annual include: MetroTek Electrical Services; United Business Systems; New Jersey Risk Managers and Consultants; Tele-Measurements, Inc.; and Smith-Sondy Paving Contractor. Generous support also was provided by Advanced Pavement Group; Arbee Associates; Bedrock Concrete Corp.; Bohler Engineering; Hunterdon Healthcare Foundation; Provident Bank; SSP Architects; Van Cleef Engineering Associates, Inc.; and many other individuals and businesses.

This year, 126 enthusiastic golfers from many local businesses participated. Following the scramble, the golfers were joined by dinner guests who all enjoyed a buffet dinner, a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, and a live auction. Five RVCC students—Ryan Cuoco, Johanna Sailema, Shannon Gomes, Kaeley Ipson, and Aaliyah Williams—spoke at the reception and each briefly shared how donors’ scholarship support has helped transform their lives, enabling them to succeed.

The RVCC Foundation is the fundraising arm of Raritan Valley Community College. It provides the resources that enable the College to enhance its programs beyond public and tuition sources and to maintain its standing as a premier academic institution and one of the most important sources of culture and continuing education in Somerset and Hunterdon counties.
