Joananne Coffaro of Flemington, Director of Raritan Valley Community College’s Workforce Training Center, has been elected to serve on the National Council for Workforce Education's (NCWE) Board of Directors. The National Council for Workforce Education is an affiliate council of the American Association of Community Colleges. Coffaro joins five other new members elected to the board and will serve a one-year term.

"The NCWE Board of Directors provides support and research to all workforce educators, helping them navigate a complex system. Workforce development and education are at the forefront of community colleges, and I look forward to building relationships and sharing what we have learned here in New Jersey with workforce educators from all over the country,” said Coffaro.

RVCC’s Workforce Training Center consists of career and technical training, corporate training, professional development and the Small Business Development Center. In January 2019, Coffaro led the charge for RVCC to be the first community college in New Jersey to be a U.S Registered Apprenticeship site for manufacturing. She also works with local corporations to provide training to advance the skills of their employees.

Coffaro has been involved with the College’s WTC for seven years. Prior to RVCC, Coffaro worked in the pharmaceutical and insurance industries in sales and marketing. She began her career at Prudential Insurance Co of America in marketing and advertising, overseeing media buying for all divisions of the company. After Prudential, Coffaro joined Sanofi-Aventis as a Specialty Sales Representatives selling pharmaceutical drugs in the Cardiovascular, Osteoporosis, Allergy, and Insomnia divisions.

Coffaro’s community affiliations include memberships on the Hunterdon Chamber of Commerce Board and the Flemington Food Pantry Board. A graduate of Rutgers University, she is currently pursuing her MBA at Rutgers.
