If you are seeking a degree you are required to take the Accuplacer placement tests for English and mathematics prior to enrolling with the following exceptions:
- You took an Accuplacer placement test at another New Jersey college
- You have completed at least 24 college credits including mathematics
- You have satisfactorily completed college courses in English and mathematics

ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE
If your native language is not English you are required to take the Accuplacer Levels of English Proficiency Placement Test prior to enrolling.
Foreign Language Placement
If you have taken Spanish, French or German language classes within the past five years or if one of these is your native language and you plan to continue with that language instruction here, you are required to placement test prior to registering for a class. If you are changing languages or have not taken a foreign language, you may register for a beginner-level class without testing. The Foreign Language Placement is given at the Testing Center and takes at least 90 minutes. The test is done by paper and pen and not computer is involved.
