Since 2007, The Children’s Campus has been under the direction of Cathy B. Griffin, MS Ed, who has over forty years of experience as an educator, trainer and director in early childhood, elementary and special education settings. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child Psychology and Development, a Master of Science in Special Education, and a Master of Science in Early Childhood Education from Bank Street College of Education. She continues to do post graduate work in early language and literacy development.
Our Assistant Director and Coordinator of Infants, Toddlers and Twos
Jill Accomando, after four years as a Head Teacher at The Children’s Campus starting in 2005, serves as the Assistant Director and coordinator of the infant, toddler and two’s programs. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Education, and brings to the Children’s Campus over 20 years of teaching and directing experience with infants and toddlers, and their families.
Our Head Teacher and Preschool Coordinator
Wendy Rizzolo came to the Children’s Campus in August, 2006. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology, with a post-graduate certificate in Education, as well as New Jersey certification as an elementary school teacher and endorsement as a P-3 Teacher. She brings to the Children’s Campus over 25 years of experience with young children and their families.
Our Head Teacher
Cathy O’Rourke came to the Children’s Campus in December, 2014. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. She brings to the Children’s Campus over 10 years of experience with young children and their families.
Our Infant Room Teacher
Maria Cuellar (Infant-Toddler Certificate) and Edy Rogers-Joshua (AA) are consistent caregivers in the Infant Room, with student assistants as needed. They provide an enriching and stimulating environment for our youngest learners who range in age from three to thirteen/fourteen months.
Our Group and Assistant Teachers
Each class is under the direction of a state certified head or group teacher. Head Teachers are experienced, full-time teachers, who have earned appropriate college degrees and state certification, such as Jill Accomando, Wendy Rizzolo and Cathy O’Rourke. Group Teachers are experienced, part-time teachers who have earned an associate degree in early childhood, or a Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate. Assistant Teachers are part-time employees – usually students in early childhood education or a related field--placed in the classroom on a regular and consistent basis. RVCC students enrolled in a co-op experience for college credit or students fulfilling service learning requirements are assigned to classes as needed. All staff is subject to the same thorough pre-employment process as required by the State of New Jersey.
