HONORS STUDENT - Applying for admission to Honors College

Honors College applications are accepted January 1st - July 1st for all Fall admissions.

• An unweighted cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher; or 87%

• Rank in the Top 20% of their high school class

• Proof of college readiness in both Math and English (*Required).  This can be accomplished in one of three ways:
       A cumulative SAT score of 1100+ (including 550+ in Math & 450+ in Evidence-Based Reading & Writing)  OR
       An aggregate ACT score of 26+ (including a 24+ in Reading and a 23+ in Math) OR
       Satisfactory score on the RVCC Math & English Accuplacer Placement Test

• History of civic engagement, leadership and/or volunteerism, either throughout high school or in your community

*NOTE:  The Honors College is test-optional.  For applicants who either did not tale the ACT/SAT or choose not to submit their scores, additional emphasis will be placed on the student’s co-curricular activities, examples of leadership and/or volunteer participation.

1) APPLY TO RVCC

• Fill out the free application: https://myraritan.force.com/apply
  You will receive an email confirmation with your student ID number within three business days

2) Complete the Honors College-specific questions on the application

• The Honors College is a highly selective community of high achieving students. Admission into the Honors College is competitive.
• Complete the Honors College portion of the application
• Honors College applications are accepted January 1st - July 1st for all Fall admissions

3) APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID (FAFSA) & SCHOLARSHIPS

• Fill out the free application for federal student aid, FAFSA

  • For students attending in Summer 2023, please complete the 2022-23 FAFSA.

  • For students attending in Fall 2023, Spring 2024 or Summer 2024, please complete the 2023-24 FAFSA.

• Explore RVCC scholarship opportunities and other financial aid options

4) REGISTER FOR CLASSES

• Complete the online orientation (G# and password required)
• After your English and math placement has been determined:
  • New Student Registration
• REQUEST THE FOLLOWING ITEMS & CONTINUE WITH NEXT STEPS:
  • Official high school transcript
  • Proof of immunization from your physician

5) PAY TUITION
