There is a $25 application fee.

Within 1 business day after applying you will receive two emails. The first will confirm that your application has been accepted and include your student ID number. The second will give you step-by-step instructions on how to register for classes. Please note that once you receive your student ID you can register for classes using a paper registration form.  If you prefer to register online, you will need to wait 7 to 10 business days until you receive in the mail an admissions letter with your password for online registration.


Before registering, you are encouraged to receive prior approval from your primary college to ensure that the credits earned at RVCC will transfer. Course Outlines are available to submit to your primary college.

  • Option 1: Paper Registration
    All courses with prerequisites require filling out the paper Academic Registration Form. In addition, you must submit proof of prerequisite requirements (copy of college transcripts, grade reports or a visiting student approval form) from your primary college. These form may be submitted by email to registrar@raritanval.edu, mailed, or delivered in person to the RVCC Student Enrollment Center, PO Box 3300, Somerville NJ 08876. The Student Enrollment Center is located on the first floor of the College Center. You can also fax it to 908-704-3442. Please do not submit the proof of prerequisites until you have received an RVCC student ID number. 
  • Option 2:  Online registration
    You can only register online once you have received your admission letter in the mail and only for courses that do not have any prerequisite requirements.
